Somdev Devvarman and Andy Murray would be involved in their first round competition at the US open. Andy Murray is expected to win the game with ease, but Somdev cannot be taken lightly as he is a player who never gives up.
WITH THE US Open scheduled to start on August 29, Indian tennis fans must be very eager to watch the Indian tennis superstar, Somdev Devvarman, who would be playing one of the favourite players to win the title, Andy Murray from Great Britain. The fourth seeded player for the tournament, Andy Murray is expected to walk away with the match.
He has not played badly against top players in the ATP circuit, as he has put up some fight when he took on players like Nadal and Federer in the past. But, it would be a tough match for the Indian, who has climbed in the ranking charts gradually, as he is presently ranked 64th in the circuit.
As these players have never been involved in a head to head clash, Somdev could use this to his advantage.
Many players around the circuit know the kind of tennis that Andy plays in the court. So, Somdev needs to do his homework well, and check upon his weakness and try to exploit during the game, if any chance comes in between for the Indian player.
Both these players have a liking towards the hard court, so we could at least see these players coming up with good ground strokes during the game. Somdev prefers to play from the baseline as his forte lies in his ground strokes. He is pretty strong if the rallies take place for a longer duration, as he tries to return each and every ball, if it is within his reach.
It would be a great chance for Somdev Devvarman to play against Murray in the US Open, which would sure be fully packed with fans eager to see the Brit who has been in good form throughout the season. Who knows, if we could witness the biggest upset of the competition?
