Some popular food myths busted
The food habits of most people are dominated by myths on food, and this takes away the enjoyment of eating. Enjoyment in eating food is the key for a healthy diet and a happy life. There are many myths related to food, and in this article we will see some of the most popular myths and the truth behind them.

MUTHY 1: The products which are labeled 'Fat free' are good for weight loss.

Truth: This is the most common myth, and because of this misconception food manufacturers take advantage of this myth. The people who want to loose weight go for these products, thinking that they will lose weight. But the fat which is stripped from the product is retained by the added preservatives, which makes it tasteless, to make it more palatable extra sugar and chemical are added to it. So, fat-free food can be more fattening than normal fat food. The thing that really matters when you want to lose weight is the calories, try to consume less calories and burn more calories.

Myth 2: Salads and raw foods are healthy options for weight loss.

Truth: The salads or the raw foods are taken with some dressing over it. Not only does the raw food or salad matters but the dressing over it also matters, and if you go for fatty or cheesy dressings over salad, then it will not help in your effort to lose weight. You need to go for simpler dressings over salad like olive oil, which will make your salad tastier and healthier.

Myth 3: Too much consumption of fruits can fluctuate blood sugar levels.

Truth: Many of us think that as fruits are sweeter in taste so they will spike up the levels of blood sugar in our body, but it's an incorrect perception. Fruits contain fructose and this form of sugar does not affect blood sugar levels. The blood sugar levels are usually affected by consumption of fats, so a low-fat diet is good for maintaining blood sugar levels.
