Sonam Kapoor, the tallest actress in Bollywood makes a splash in Cannes
Recently, Sonam Kapoor was seen sporting a white and black net gown in Cannes and a loud eye makeup. In an interview in Cannes, she revealed the bright side of her, and said that at 5'10.5' she is the tallest actress in Bollywood.

SONAM KAPOOR, who is known to create ripples wherever she goes, has done it again with her red carpet walk on the French Riviera, in Cannes this year. That she is witty, honest and straightforward was evident from her straight-from-the-hip 'Koffee With Karan' interview but that she is the tallest actress of Bollywood, is a bibliophile, and can converse easily on any subject are not so known facts about the Bollywood beauty.

In Cannes, in an interview to an Indian newspaper, Sonam revealed that she was 5ft 10½ tall and even Western girls or actresses are not as tall as she is. One and a half inches away from being six feet tall, most Indian stars would require a podium to get anywhere near her shoulders let alone tower over her.

The actress who made her red carpet debut in Cannes is the tallest actress in Bollywood, till date. She even supersedes Tabu, who is 5ft 10 inches tall and as Sonam herself says, she might be taller than most of the girls in the West. Almost all the model turned actresses such as Bipasha Basu, Aishwarya and Sushmita Sen are shorter than this petite actress. On the other hand, this actress who was criticised by all for her candid nature, has never walked the ramp as a model but still is one of the most stylish persons in the Indian film industry.

People love this sweet smiling, vivacious actress, and would love to see her with all the top actors of Bollywood. But this might be a little difficult given her height or the fact that all the top actors of Bollywood are not that tall themselves.

Always sidelined by Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor is quite an actress as she has proved herself on various occasions. She is an interesting individual as well, and would like to play varied characters during her career as an actress. As a voracious reader, all her favourite characters, which she wants to play, are influenced by books such as Indira Devi( Gayatri Devi’s mother) and Dagny Taggart from Atlas Shrugged.

The young actress represented L’Oreal brand in Cannes, and created quite a furor with her gown and makeup. Although, reaction to her net gown and smoky eyes in Cannes was divided, yet the actress was all smiles with herself. Talking about it and her association with LO’real she said, “I have been part of their skincare line and the make-up and the hair — I basically endorse most of their products, actually. I know a lot about make-up, trust me.

Sonam Kapoor also inherits her father’s, Anil Kapoor, ready and uproarious sense of humour, and a keen mind. Even 10 years back she would have been a misfit in the Indian film industry. Today, there are directors, and more importantly scripts, that are likely to do justice to her acting potential and her bright and charming personality.
