THE UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi is fine now after undergoing an operation for an undisclosed medical condition. According to her spokesperson, the surgery has been successful and it was conducted abroad. One of the most powerful ladies of India would be away from her responsibilities for two to three weeks.

Her spokesperson, Janardhan Dwivedi also said that Mrs. Gandhi was recuperating in an ICU and would have to take rest for the next few weeks. He also said that the sudden surgery had to be conducted and they chose an institution abroad. People felt strange for the choice as India has some very well known and reputed hospital facilities.

Mr Dwivedi said, “As this is a personal matter that pertains to her health and medical treatment, her family requests that her privacy be respected.” The news broke out when the Spokesperson said on Thursday that Sonia Gandhi has been diagnosed with some medical condition that needs surgery. Sonia Gandhi has named a four member team after her to look at affairs in India as it is a higher tense time with big time scams breaking out every day.

The four-member team included Rahul Gandhi, her son and maybe the future leader of our country. When she was absent from the Parliament her absence was said to be because of viral infection but now it seems she is suffering from something serious.
