THE eREADER war is getting hotter with some part time eReaders as well as some full fledged ones hitting the market every now and then. Earlier it was Amazon’s Kindle that was the sole eBook reader available and then others followed the suit.
Came Apple iPad which has changed the way of book reading on the go. The didgitised books are available in abundance and people are taking it like a hot cake.
After Apple’s success and want for great eReaders, many copmpanies are planning tablets which solve the purpose of eBook reader as well as a portable computer.
Sony has just announced its two eReaders PRS-650 and PRS-350 which are surprisingly thin at a mere 10mm. Both the readers from Sony have E Ink displays which offer faster page turns and better contrast.
The two eReaders from Sony are different on the size, PRS-350 measures 5 inches while PRS-650 is 6 inches. The other difference is that the bigger version has more attractive features. PRS-650 has got a 2 GB of storage capacity which is quite huge for digital text books.
Sony even plans to bring Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity to both these devices and plans to cash in on that.The PRS-350 however, is expected to be slight lighter on specs it is still attractive enough with improved performance over its predecessor, the PRS-300.Both the devices run on the same software plus USB 2.0 and can read formats like BBeB eBook, Adobe PDF and even Microsoft Word. The high point of the devices is the huge battery life of two weeks.
