Soon, release of e-book 'The Homechooling Indians'
The e-book "The Homechooling Indians" that describes the homeschooling journey in Indian perspective by Saju Joseph, says a facebook post with a picture of the book. It a welcome release since parents can get clues how to carry out early education of their children in their neighbourhood.

The experiments in homeschooling in India have been tried and captured by the Indian Association of Homeschoolers 'Swashikshan' who organizer the annual meet ups of the homeschooling practitioners and enthusiast. However, this book will a handbook for the organizers of the presently working home schools and those who wish to join the movement of homeschooling to save their children from the 'danger schools' run by under public, private and NGO sectors which have fallen in the trap of capitalists and corporate sectors.

It has been seen that the world over, policies of education go for ill-governed control systems uniformity and similarity pre-set prescribed curricula which does not educate and nurture it properly. When most schools have become black boxes, hoodwinking and fleecing parents, the precept of homeschooling for early education till the age of 9 can be a good idea.

The idea was Homeschooling was  supported by John Holt  one the lead educational theorist  and social scientist  in the 1970s in a big way as an alternative to demolish  the oppressive classroom environment and insensitivities towards the children.

Hopefully, the book will  inspire parents and other NGOs to promote the system of homeschooling as an alternative system that creates a community of learners. When the new National Policy is in the offing, the idea of homeschooling needs to be considered by the civil society organization and parents seriously.
