INDIAN PREMIER League debutant team Pune Warriors has signed former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly for the remainder of the IPL's season four. Pune Warriors signed former Indian captain as replacement for injured pacer Ashish Nehra. He has been ruled out of the tournament due to the finger injury. During the Cricket World Cup semi-final match against Pakistan in March, left hand medium pacer Nehra sustained injuries.
Sourav Ganguly, who went unsold in the IPL's players auction held in January 2011, had played previous three seasons of Indian Premier League for Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders and captaining them in two editions.
Pune Warriors team is going through a bad patch in the IPL with six straight loses, and the team is at the bottom of the points table. Ganguly will is likely to join Pune in its game against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday at the ground of Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
