The South Beach wine and food festival 2010, from February 25 to 28, will have a large French presence with the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries participating and the best chefs against each other in the best of the best gala.

GET READY to sip your wines at the South Beach wine and food festival 2010, which will take place from February 25 to February 28, this year. The festival this year will have a large French presence with the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries participating, apart from seeing the best chefs against each other at the best of the best gala.

The best of the best gala, is one of the must see events here and would take place at the Fountaineblue hotel on February 26. Here, 41 chefs that have been recognised as superior by the Wine Spectator magazine will battle for the top honour.

The February 26 event will also include a silent auction apart from showcasing 16 cha,pagnes and 56 wineries. However, those interested would have to shell out $350. auction.

On the other hand, the Celebrate France theme would also resonate at the South Beach wine and food festival 2010. A seperate french pavilion will be set up for the four day festival, which would inaugurated by French Ambassador to United States, Pierre Vimont on February 26.

This Celebrate France pavilion will have many gastronomic specialties and gourmet products from France up for display. Notable among these are Ile de France, who will have a selection of brie, goat, triple-creme, blue and sheep's milk cheese specialties and Les Vins Georges Duboeuf, who will put up many of their variety wines called Patch Block at the pavillion.

There would also be a "Le Tasting Bar" with wine and cheese pairing seminars hosted by WR Tish, a known wine writer and educator. Here visitors can sample various wines, apart from discussing them with the winemakers and estate representatives too.
