Spiritually guided materialism 'needonomics' is solution of various human problems: Vice Chancellor MM Goel
"For proving Incredible India as independent, nonviolent, democracy with integrity and amity, we need to learn spiritual economics confining to needs (needonomics) and no to greed (economics of greed - greedonomics) which is nonviolent in nature for living and working without worries.

The time has come to adopt spiritually guided materialism flowing from Bhagvad Gita. It needs to be understood that God has promised to satisfy needs and not greed which should be kept in mind by every individual in the present times of consumerism," said Professor MM Goel, Vice Chancellor Jagan Nath University, Jaipur. He was delivering Professor Sharda Prashad Tiwari memorial lecture here in Gomti Nagar today on the topic "Spiritual Economics for Human Development in India".

For becoming   human capital, we need to become street smart (simple, moral, action oriented, responsive and transparent) with spiritual economics in the present economic scenario, told Professor Goel.

It is firmly believed by Professor Goel that the rate of progress in spiritualism is faster than the rate of progress in materialism which justifies accepting spiritually guided materialism making a case for 'needonomics'  as a solution of various problems . There is no doubt that India will emerge as a world leader on its spiritual strength only. To make it happen we should adopt an evolutionary approach and should not expect miracles. Bhagvad Gita is a treatise on welfare economics, relationship management and needs to be accepted as a sacro-secular epic for the entire humanity, believes the Vice Chancellor.
