Five states are going to polls; split within the BJP is undoubtedly not a good sign. At a time when they should have been concentrating on defeating the Congress and other parties, they are fighting over the inclusion of two ministers Kushwaha and Badshah Singh within their ambit.
FIVE STATES namely Goa, Manipur, Punjab, UP and Uttaranchal are heading towards the state assembly polls during February and March, 2012. While political parties are active in pick and choose game, candidates are on their toes, trying to manage the tickets by hook or crook.

These candidates are ready to shell out any amount to get a ticket, preferably from the ruling party of their respective states, as their support can give them a fair support to test the waters.
BJP has recently welcomed two expelled ministers, sacked by the UP Chief Minster Mayawati on graft charges. Now there is a rift among the senior BJP leaders on this accord. L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj both have opposed the inclusion of these two ministers by party Chief Nitin Gadkari.
The entire group now stands divided into 2 groups; one is backing Party Chief on the grounds of social engineering while the other opposes it. The opposition group has the feeling that this change will damage the party’s anti graft campaign completely.
The party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi commented that the CBI raids are completely motivated and why CBI took such a long time to carry out the raids. A great tension has now been built up in BJP camp due to the division among them.
It’s just beginning of the story; the real game will start when the nomination forms come to the Election Commission for its scrutiny.
The Election Commission under the latest amendment is likely to cancel the nominations of tainted/ expelled ministers namely Kushwaha and Badshah Singh. Undoubtedly the spilt within the party is not considered a good sign.
