Sridevi back with a bang with English Vinglish: critics
Going by the positive reviews, the film looks sensible, well-written and well-enacted. All the more reason for people to flock to the theaters to watch English Vinglish and their favourite actress in action in her second innings.
TILL DATE almost in all the comebacks, superstars have failed miserably at the box office. Whether it was Madhuri Dixit
in Aaja Nachle or Karishma Kapoor in Dangerous Ishq none of the actresses could make it work. However Sridevi seems to be on the correct career path as her upcoming release English Vinglish has been appreciated by critics who believe it will do well at the box office.
Directed and scripted by Gauri Shinde, the film takes on an issue that is very sensitive to many Indians - their inability to speak the English language. The critics are of the view that it is the simplicity of the film that will attract the audience and of course Sridevi. After 15 years, one would think that she will look her age but she is as beautiful and refreshing as she was last seen in Judaai.
Sridevi in one of the promotional events said that it is a happy go lucky film in spite of the problem that the protagonist faces. Applauding the film, Taran Adarsh writes, “Cinema is rapidly changing and one can connect with viewers across the globe even without making the usual mainstream Hindi movie. English Vinglish proves it!”
The film is set to hit the theatres across India today and all Sridevi fans are waiting eagerly to see the reaction. While some will buy the tickets beforehand reading the critics' views, others will wait for the weekend. By the look of the trailers and the response of the critics, Sridevi is back with a bang for her second innings!
