Sridevi's body likely to arrive in Mumbai only on Tuesday
Media has reported that Sridevi's mortal remains are expected to reach Mumbai by a chartered plane only on Tuesday.

Indian envoy to the UAE has said that the Dubai Police can release the body only after another "clearance". As per latest reports, the actor had died of accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub on Saturday night after losing consciousness.

On being asked when Sridevi's body could be flown out from Dubai, Indian envoy to the UAE, Navdeep Suri told PTI that it was difficult to give any timeline.

In the meanwhile, the Dubai Police have transferred the case to the Dubai Public Prosecution, which will carry out the legal procedures followed in the case of death of foreigners, it is learned through media.

Although the Dubai Police has released Sridevi's body for embalming, but further probe into death will continue into the circumstances that led to her drowning.

Police wants to know why the bathtub was reportedly full and why a friend was called for help rather than the hotel doctor and its staff, it is reported.

As per the forensic report, Sridevi, 54, who had died on Saturday late night in room number 2201 of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel in Dubai, had reportedly died of accidental drowning with traces of alcohol having been found in her blood.

She had stayed back in Dubai after a family wedding. She went to the washroom to get ready to have dinner with husband Boney Kapoor, when the incident occurred.
