Sridevi's body reaches Dubai International Airport to be flown back to Mumbai tonight
It has been reported that the Dubai Police has completed and closed the investigations into the accidental death by drowning of Bollywood actress Sridevi and released her body.

Dubai Police handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming of her body.

According to the Indian Consulate, the Dubai Police has handed over the letters for the release of the mortal remains of Sridevi Boney Kapoor for embalming. Now, the two-day suspense and wait for Sridevi's body is finally over.

It was on Saturday evening, Sridevi had reportedly drowned in the bathtub of room no.2201 of Dubai's Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. Earlier, in her death certificate, the reason for death was reported as 'accidental death' but according to the papers handed over to the family members, it has been stated to be 'drowning'.

The body of Sridevi is expected to reach Mumbai tonight by a private chartered plane owned by industrialist Anil Ambani, it is being stated by media sources.

Her body has reached the Dubai International Airport and will be soon flown back to Mumbai along with her family members. Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor is accompanied by his son Arjun Kapoor on the flight back home, as per a Gulf News report.

A condolence meeting will be held for Sridevi on Wednesday, February 28, at the Andheri West located Celebrations Club at Garden no.5 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The actor's funeral and last rites would be performed at the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery, next to Pawan Hans from 3.30 pm to 5 pm.
