Sridevi's cremation: The veteran actress' final journey in pics
On Wednesday evening, Bollywood actress Sridevi was cremated at Mumbai's Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium with full state honours. She had died in Dubai on February 24 after accidentally drowning in her hotel room's bathtub.

On her final journey, Sridevi was draped in Tricolour. Her cortege embellished with white flowers arrived at the crematorium followed by innumerable fans amidst elaborate arrangements made by the Mumbai police including according her mortal remains a gun salute before the cremation.

Also accompanying Sridevi's mortal remains on the hearse were daughters Jhanvi and Khushi along with their father Boney Kapoor. Arjun Kapoor was also present on the hearse during its journey to the crematorium.

What was heartbreaking to see was that the actress, even after death, had a slight smile on her face and it seemed that she would soon wake up. But alas, the queen of the silver screen has gone into eternal slumber, never to wake up again.

Thousands of mourners, fans and Bollywood celebrities alike, gathered outside the Celebrations Sports Club in the afternoon to pay their last respects to the actor.

In fact, teary-eyed fans and admirers had been gathering outside her home since dawn to catch one last glimpse of Sridevi, the actor who ruled their hearts and Indian cinema for more than two decades. Sridevi's mortal remains had arrived in Mumbai from Dubai in a chartered flight on Tuesday night.

Bollywood actors and celebrities present during the cremation included Vidya Balan, Subhash Ghai, Jackie Shroff, Farhan Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Deepika Padukone, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, John Abraham, among many others.

Sridevi's last rites were performed by her husband Boney Kapoor.
