Finally, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan broke his silence over the demise of Bal Thackeray. He tweeted that Sena chief's demise has made him feel guilty for not 'dissolving his distance with Balasaheb'.
THERE WAS a time when Shahrukh Khan and Balasaheb Thackeray shared an amicable relationship. But after a brief fallout between the two in 2010 after Thackeray threatened to stall the screening of SRK's movie, 'My Name in Khan. Both SRK and Thackeray maintained a fair distance. But the actor said that he will miss the evenings that he had spent with the late Sena chief.
Many Bollywood personalities right from megastar Amitabh Bachchan to director Madhur Bhandarkar visited ailing Bal Thackeray at his residence but Shahrukh Khan did not turn up, not even after his demise. But despite their distances, Shahrukh has been found tweeting for the well-being of Balasaheb before his demise.
Shahrukh was at an event when he spoke about his relationship with the deceased Sena chief. He said that he was very close to Thackrey and will miss him. “I know him personally, I did go and spend some time with him. I personally think that when a leader of that level and quality, who has done so much to Maharashtra and Mumbai passes away. That void can never be filled, I offer my condolences, support and love to his family. I will miss the wonderful evenings with Balasaheb,” Khan said.
