SHAHRUKH KHAN'S team somersaulted to the final of the IPL. His somersault after his team’s win in the IPL Twenty20 first playoff cricket match between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune on May 22, 2012 reveals his mental relief and excitement. He hit back at the Mumbai Cricket Association saying that he was not drunk during the alleged brawl at Wangkhede. He got into the spat only after the kids with him had been manhandled.

The swamping of the Mumbai Indians by KKR was the main reason behind this insult. The Shiv Sena people might have been involved, too, as they had a grudge against Shahrukh Khan. The security guard would not otherwise have shown such a daring attitude for engaging himself in the altercation with the King of Bollywood and the owner of an IPL team after its win. Just incredible. There are bigger reasons behind the incident.

That Shahrukh’s team enlisted themselves as finalists is a rebuff given to the people who insulted Shahrukh Khan with their inhuman and arrogant high-handedness. They rushed to him aggressively as if the whole thing were motivated. Shahrukh entered Eden in the same way after the win against Pune Warriors. Saurav’s team was defeated that day in Kolkata. But Eden enjoyed the Shahrukh entertainment package.

The defeat of Sachin and Mumbai Indians should not have triggered such violence under the sponsorship of the MCA authority. This shows the mean-mindedness of the Cricket authority in Mumbai. It is quite surprising, that none has apologized to the Bollywood icon till so far. It is unpardonable that the father is insulted before the kids, and the kids are manhandled before the father. The urgency with which MCA filed the complaint to BCI against Shahrukh is indicative of their revengeful attitude. May be some words were uttered by Shahrukh in anger, which is not without reason too. The foul words were uttered first by the security people and they said those words in Marathi.

Only on being provoked the Bollywood star, and more than that an angry father, that Shahrukh reacted. Some raised the question that Shahrukh Khan is no God. But it is no less true that he is not a nobody.

The ban imposed in a hurry on him for five years is simply not related to cricket. Shahrukh is not a criminal after all. It is also a hollow punishment, and more an insult than a punishment, because it is something like Sachin’s entry, who was banned from Bollywood studio. Shahrukh loves Cricket no less than others in the MCA. No other team could make the King Khan make a somersault in such a jovial mood as the KKR had done. The win against the Delhi Dare Devils in Pune is a historic win. The best pen would run out of its ink when the team won and Shahrukh had his somersault. Gambhir, Shukla and Yusuf did a great job for snatching victory by 18 runs. It was a colourful day for KKR, a dream realized. A chance to give a slap on the face of MCA.
