Shri Ram Sena Jammu and Kashmir has strongly resented the attitude of Jammu University authorities for not accommodating the students and staff of Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) who are facing accommodation problems from last so many days as the owner of the present rented accommodation Tavish College has served them notice to vacate of their premises with immediate effect.
Shri Ram Sena state president Rajiv Mahajan said that University authorities are known to say that they have allotted Jammu Old University Campus to Institute of Music and Fine Arts for their accommodation as the college of engineering has been shifted from there to new building at Paloura.
In fact, the college of engineering has recently been shifted to newly constructed building at Paloura, but the Principal of said college is still occupying the old JU campus and not vacating the premises. JU authorities seemed to be helpless in vacating the premises from the engineering college principal for reasons better known to them.
Mahajan appealed to Higher Education Minister Akbar Lone to intervene in the matter and settle the issue at an earliest because the students of the Institute are suffering a lot due to non availability of the class rooms and their studies have been badly affected and the exams are just approaching.
Mahajan further said that if the Institute of Music and Fine Arts is not accommodated before January 30, Shri Ram Sena along with students and their parents will start agitation against the authorities and the whole responsibility shall lie on authorities concerned.
