State-run veterinary lab finds beef in biryani seized by Haryana police from Mewat
Nowadays the Haryana Police is busy in sniffing beef in biryani, as just days ahead of Bakri Eid they have been given a special task to go around Mewat, Haryana's only Muslim-dominated district, and collect samples of biryani to check if it is containing beef.

On Thursday, the police picked up seven samples of biryani from street vendors in the district. The samples were then sent to Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, a state-run veterinary lab in Hisar. Shockingly, five of the samples allegedly contained beef.

The orders for the raid have come from the state government's Gau Sewa Ayog, after receiving complaints about presence of cow meat in biryani. Ayog Chairman Bhani Ram Mangla said, "According to the complaints we received, the vendors are mixing a little rice with the meat to camouflage it," reported Times of India.

Bhani Ram Mangla took the decision to check the sample of biryanis sold in Mewat and Nuh on Tuesday after a meeting with the cow protection task force. The police have been asked to collect the samples of biryani and are given the powers to immediately book the vendors if they find beef.

Meanwhile, a senior Congress leader from Mewat, Aftab Ahmed has accused the BJP government in the state of humiliating a particular community in the district.
