Stefanie Spielman was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, when she was three months pregnant. She died on November 19, fighting against the disease. She also set up a fund for cancer patients and their families.

STEFANIE SPIELMAN, wife of NFL star Chris Spielman, who organised a public campaign against breast cancer died on Thursday (November 19), at her Upper Arlington home in Columbus. Stefanie Spielman, 42 was suffering from breast cancer and she died fighting the disease for almost a decade.

Chris Spielman in a statement said that Stefanie has gone home to be with the lord. He also thanked people for their support over the last 12 years.

Stefanie Spielman was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, when she was three months pregnant. She was a fighter and during her fight with cancer, she launched a campaign against breast cancer. Together Stefanie Spielman and Chris Spielman raised millions of dollars for breast cancer research in Ohio through th Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

Stefanie also helped in setting a support group for young women with breast cancer and also honoured cancer survivors. She also set up a fund for cancer patients and their families.

Stefanie Spielman was 30-years old and three months pregnant in 1998 when she detected a lump in her breast.

Cycling legend Lance Armstrong, who himself is a cancer survivor said that they had lost a leader in the fight against cancer.
