Steven Spielberg, Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep again nominated for Golden Globe2013
After War Horse, which bagged 6 Oscar nominations, Steven Spielberg is back again with historical drama Lincoln that has bagged 7 Golden Globe nominations in the categories of best director, picture and actor among other things. Very close in cotention is Aargo and Django Unchained, which has received 5 nominations each.

IT ALL started with a simple lunch on a December afternoon of 1947, where a newly formed Hollywood Foreign Association was gathered in Hollywood Roosevelth Hotel. At that lunch, Harry M. Warner, of the Warner Brothers, was being presented by a plaque for his humanitarian work and from there on the Golden Globe was born. Agreed, a number of milestones mark the formation of the most important award ceremony, which gives the audience a taste of what the Oscars would be like for a particular Year. The nominations for 2013 for the Golden Globe Awards is out and Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms were the presenters of the 5 am Beverly Hills show.

Ang Lee's Life of Pi, that got international attention is also contending for the best picture along with Zero Dark Thirty. Familiar names that made it to last years to the awarded list and has made it to the nomination list again this year are Helen Mirren for Best Actress for her role as Alma Reville in movie Hitchcock, Meryl Streep for the same category as Mirren for Hope Spring and Judi Dench for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Anna Hathaway is already making a lot of noise for Les Miserables and is nominated in the Supporting actress category as is Nicole Kidman for The Paperboy.

Richard Gere has been nominated for the best Actor for his film Arbitage along with Clive Owen for Hemingway & Gellhorn and Denzil Washington for Flight. Sherlock, which was got a lukewarm appreciation from the audience in general, has given Benedict Cumberbatch his Golden Globe Nomination for best actor in mini series.

Adele might just have to make place for another gong with her Golden Globe Nomination for original score in Skyfall, which was written by her. In the same category, Hungry Games song 'Safe and Sound' and Stand Up Guys song 'Not Running Anymore' is also nominated.

These are some of the few nominations taken from the list that contains prolific works such as animated films, dramas, miniseries, movies for television and drama for television. All in all it looks like an interesting list.
