According to a survey carried out by a Dutch online survey, colleagues who stink are voted as number one irritants at workplace. So if you are one of them, make sure you wash regularly and use deodorants.
OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENE is the art and science dedicated to the evaluation, communication or recognition arising from the workplace, which affects well being of the colleagues. This survey relates to the occupation hygiene at workplace and lists the biggest office irritants.
A Dutch online survey on work hygiene by jobs website, NationaleVacaturebank.nl., states that colleagues who smell of sweat are regarded as the number one irritants at workplace. The second place is occupied by those who don't wash their hands after visiting toilets. This can be a sign of laziness or lack of knowledge in basic hygiene. Another reason behind this can be Hypochondria; it is an extreme fear of contracting diseases; it makes people not to use the sinks that are dirty. But all these excuses for not washing the hands are ridiculous.
The third biggest office nuisance is workers with bad breath. If a person has bad breath then it is very difficult to communicate with him. To avoid such problems mouth fresheners can be used. Next comes the workers who makes sound while eating and those who sniff and blow their nose very loudly. Such persons at work place distract the concentration of the co-workers.
The survey also found that more than half of the employees never cleaned their belongings. There were 1100 participants in the survey and half of them said they never cleaned their desks. About four out of ten people have witnessed mouse at their workplace and almost one in ten employees have seen cockroaches, reported Indian Express.
