Stop encroachments and parking in streets of old Delhi
The city-life in streets of walled city- old Delhi has returned to that of undisciplined and uncivilised after Commonwealth Games-2010 when a gimmick and untrue picture of a well-managed city was presented before foreign athletes and other visitors.
IT SEEMS city-life in streets of walled city of old Delhi has returned to that of undisciplined and uncivilised after Commonwealth Games-2010 when a gimmick and untrue picture of a well-managed city was presented before foreign athletes and other visitors.

Take for example, case of the street Kucha Lattushah in Dariba situated in heart of city Chandni Chowk. Half of the street-entrance is now blocked by an encroacher selling artificial jewellery. Residents of the street especially women and senior citizens find it tough to reach their houses with scooters of outsiders parked haphazardly in the complete street with no authority owning responsibility of checking such encroachments and parking of scooters in congested and thin streets. Sewer-covers don’t fit properly leaving all chances of ligament-break or leg-fracture while walking in the street.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Police should jointly launch a massive programme to free inner streets (like Kucha Lattushah of Dariba in Chandni Chowk) of old Delhi from encroachments and parking of scooters with a regular vigil for not allowing such nuisance ever.
