Strangulation allegation: Comrade Kanhaiya, rather than taking shortcuts, learn to work on ground
All of a sudden reports started appearing in media on Sunday that JNU Students Union leader Kanhaiya Kumar was attacked inside a plane. Allegedly a BJP supporter had attempted to strangulate him. Naturally this is a serious case.

But soon the truth came out as Mumbai Police clarified that it was nothing, but, an altercation between Kanhaiya and TCS employee Manas Deka over seats. Jet Airways deplaned both of them considering safety issue of other passengers. Some video clips of the incident were also aired.

The fact is Kanhaiya wanted to do a Kejriwal over a minor scuffle. Kejriwal used to blame Narendra Modi for everything under the Sun and Kanhaiya started blaming BJP for everything under the Sun.

BJP made him a hero by putting him behind the bar for his alleged involvement in anti-India sloganeering inside JNU campus. All Modi-haters projected him as an emerging youth icon and his speeches were aired live without any break. Suddenly anti-Modi brigade treated him like a savior.

But, a hero can't be made overnight taking advantage of some pointless controversies. The Congress although used his photo in Assam election but distanced itself from Kanhaiya. CPI too didn't use him in Bengal elections realizing that people of Bengal are not ready to accept somebody who was allegedly involved in raising anti-national slogans. Thus he was off the media for quite some time. That perhaps inspired him to blow this scuffle out of proportion to be in media again. But truth always prevails and the so called sensational 'attack on Kanhaiya' died within hours.

Immature publicity stunts are sometimes self damaging. People instead of focusing on his claims of being attacked have started questioning his luxurious life style. For example, even wealthy people prefer to travel by road than air from Mumbai to Pune because it's not only cost effective but also takes same time as it takes for air travel which also include check in, check out time.

He also uses iPhone. There is nothing wrong in having iPhone or traveling by air. But if you are fighting for poor class people and oppressed group, how can you use all the luxury which is used by oppressors? You will travel in first class compartment but fight for general compartment passengers, isn't it hypocrisy?

Gandhi was fighting for oppressed class and was advocator of 'Swadeshi Andolan'. He travelled in third class compartment and wore handmade cloths. That's why he is a 'Mahatma'.

However I don't blame Kanhaiya because he is victim of desperation by some self claimed intellectuals. He follows an ideology, which is full of double standards. Some years ago (2007) the communist parties travelled to Vishakhapatnam to protest against America against the nuclear deal, its capitalist policy and the Indo-US Navy joint exercise carried out near Vizag coast. The interesting contradiction was that many communist leaders were using Made in America iPads, iPhones and even the mineral water they consumed was of Pepsi brand.

If Kanhaiya Kumar wants to establish himself in Dalit politics, then he must have to leave the 'Kejriwal syndrom'. Do work at ground instead lecturing in front of camera. That's the one way, which will make you a true icon India and Dalit community is needing badly. Else you will be soon sent to oblivion by your present sponsors if you fail to add any value to their cynicism.
