Students of Scottish High International School in Gurgaon perform an impressive act during PYP exhibition
Gurgaon, February 14: Five students of Scottish High International School, a Gurgaon-based educational institution, performed an act for raising awareness on the ill-effects of junk food and stressing upon the need of eating a healthy diet under the ambit of Primary Years Programme (PYP).

PYP is an educational programme which is managed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for students aged between 3 and 12. The key subjects of focus of PYP are language, social studies, mathematics, science and technology, arts, and personal, social and physical education. Under the programme, students are also made to learn a secondary language. Students are assessed by teachers as per the guidelines laid down by IB under the programme.

The act was performed by five students of class V of Scottish High International School – Arav, Aryan, Vikhyat, Suryansh and Shayla – during the PYP exhibition that was organised at the school premises on February 14.

Vikhyat, who was one among the five-member team, on being asked about the motive behind this exhibition said, "This is the fifth grade that is ending. And then we will be in sixth grade, we will be seniors. Then we will have no PYP. So as it is the end of our PYP, we did an exhibition to gather our skills about PYP that we learned from pre-nursery to grade V."

"In pre-nursery we start the profiles and attitudes, till grade V. And now in grade V our PYP exhibition is happening where we prepare many charts on the first line of enquiry, second line of enquiry and the third line of enquiry," he added further.

On being asked, what message she had for the audience on the purpose of PYP, Shyla, another class V student who performed in the act said, "I think the purpose of PYP is to tell others what we are doing so that everyone can know what is PYP and its different concepts."

This act was performed alongside a few other performances covering varied subjects to mark the school's PYP exhibition on February 14.

In order to participate in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), a student must attend an IB authorised world school. Scottish High International School which is located in Gurgaon's Sector 57, is one of the few IB accredited schools of Gurgaon.
