Subhash Chandra Bose: A true nationalist
“Give me blood and I shall give you freedom,” Subhash Chandra Bose not only proclaimed thus but also lived up to his words. A true nationalist, he didn’t rethink before dying for sovereignty of India. Today is his 111th birth anniversary.
REVERED AS Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the great Indian freedom fighter against the British Rule and the prominent national leader of the Indian Independence Movement was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack in Orissa. The legend, with a desire to free the nation, plunged into politics after resigning from the esteemed Indian Civil Service in April 1921 regardless of his high grades in the merit list, and went about to be reformed into an active member of India’s independence movement.

Bose was elected the president of the Indian National Congress (INC) twice, in1937 and 1939. Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent strategies were never appreciated or approved by Bose. He deemed that Gandhi’s tactics would never facilitate India achieve independence. So his ideological clashes with Mahatma Gandhi led him to quit the INC. And being a strong advocate of aggressive and violent combat, he grounded All India Forward Bloc in 1939, a political party. Thus, began his battle for freedom to overthrow the British Empire.

The Indian nationalist was arrested eleven times for his anti-British movements between 1920 and 1941. But nothing could stop this hero, who was absolutely committed to return his motherland its lost sovereignty.

Bose piloted the youth wing of the Congress Party and headed the trade union movement in India. Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) was his establishment. He also structured another wing of Congress called Service League, and was greatly regarded for his contributions.

Notwithstanding his apparent hatred for the British Empire, he had a profound penchant for its systematic attitude and tenaciously disciplinarian stance towards life.

Bose focused on the democratic system, which he thought was the apposite option for India. He was the true supporter of independence, yet is not endowed with the amount of significance he deserves. Gandhi’s Congress Party came to rule post independence and Bose’s efforts were barely kept in mind. When Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and other leaders’ birth anniversaries are celebrated nationally, why not Subhash Chandra Bose’s?

Bose’s ways to liberate India from the Eastern front persists to cause intense discussions in the Indian society, even today. Every Indian should salute his strong nationalism, vigorous efforts to release India from her bounds and the remarkable journey he undertook in the quest to meet his objectives.

I am here to unravel the mystry of death of subhash, i metr him many times between 1972-77 at dehradun. He died in samadhi. He took samadhi for 110 days, died on 93rd day.He was sanyasi. He used to hide his finger prints, How? I know.On death, Governor UP sent wireless message for police escort. kept body 10 days for last homages to departed soul. Photography was not allowed I met sh. Uttam chand malhotra and other key personals in those 10 days. Body taken to Rishikesh by 3 trucks of police armd constabulary, funeral by govt. with full guard of honour-21 rifles gunshots fired. Have you ever seen guard of honour, given to sanyasis. We have hand wrtten letter in bangla language by him , can be sent for macthing to hand writing expert.1945 to 1960 He was in jailed in syberia, disclosed by swetlana, daughter of Stalin and also disclosed by former ambassador Sh, Satyanarayan Sinha to Nehru who scolded him. It was disclosed before Khosla commission also.In 1964 BLITZ weekly news paper from Bombay published a picture of a sanyasi beside the dead body of Nehru, showing clear similarity to Subhash. Heading was 'Who is this man?' This was a proof that Subhash was alive. In 1955 Ex-PM of Britain visitedbengal. Ther he was asked by the governor Sh. Sudarshan agrawal, the reason of giving independence to India in a hurry when it was peace all around in 1947..there was no agitation in any part of India. He replied 'Due to Subhash' Britishers were in panic and feared of Subhash. British intelligence had confirmed that Subhash was alive but they could not locate hm. In fear they decided to leave. Netaji Subhas was a nationalist but today we know that his socialist views on society were relevant for the human race of the whole world. His dream was social transformation and the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden. The marginalised people of the world were within his purview. He wanted freedom for the marginalised ones and not for the rich and the affluent. Netaji's links with Hitler were due to his theory "my enemy's enemy is my friend" and it was simply tactical and never ideological. Netaji is globally recognised as another Che Guevara or Ho Chi Minh who organised people with armed forces against the imperialist forces. Unfortunately his plans did not materialise. Caesar dead was more powerful than Caesar alive. Netaji both alive and dead was more popular than powerful. Prof Saugata Bose of Tuft University beautifully focused on the socialist views in the writings of Netaji. Those who undermined Netaji's views in the past, have of late come to their senses to reassess the position of Netaji. His links with the Fascists were simply tactical.More revealing truths will be out as more days pass.Nobody fully knows what exactly happened to Netaji in Taihoku-bound plane. That Netaji's death-facts are shrouded in mystery is a blessing for us. He will ever remain immortal in our mind
