Raging with fury, television images had shown Aslam speaking with media persons. He told a leading British media house that he had been receiving threat letters from militant groups and Tehrik-e- Pakistan Taliban but he was not aware that these coward groups will strike his children. He further added that this act will not deter him. A scribe from the same organisation reported that Aslam, who heads the CID had in the past arrested and interrogated some suspected Taliban militants in Karachi. Eye witness accounts said that a suicide bomber rammed his car into the gate of his residence and blew himself up.
