Suicide bomber strikes outside top cops residence in Karachi
A suicide bomber reportedly from the Pakistani Taliban struck outside SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam's residence on Monday morning. Ten people have died apart from leaving numerous others being seriously injured.

A SUICIDE bomber from Pakistani Taliban struck outside SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam at Street 32 in Karachi resulting in the death of at least ten people on Monday morning. Amongst those killed were mostly guards stationed outside Aslam’s residence. A woman and a child were also killed in the blast. Due to the impact of the blast, a large part of the house of the SSP was destroyed apart from shattering windows of the cars parked nearby.

Raging with fury, television images had shown Aslam speaking with media persons. He told a leading British media house that he had been receiving threat letters from militant groups and Tehrik-e- Pakistan Taliban but he was not aware that these coward groups will strike his children. He further added that this act will not deter him. A scribe from the same organisation reported that Aslam, who heads the CID had in the past arrested and interrogated some suspected Taliban militants in Karachi. Eye witness accounts said that a suicide bomber rammed his car into the gate of his residence and blew himself up.
