Sunanda Pushkar cremated in Delhi in the presence of son and husband Shashi Tharoor
Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor who was found dead in a mysterious condition in her hotel room in Delhi has been cremated. Pushkar's body has been handed over to her husband Shashi Tharoor who is Union Minister for State for Human Resource and Development after post-mortem.

Before handing over the body, Sunanda's post-mortem was conducted by a 3-member team of AIIMS doctors. The entire post-mortem was video graphed and photo graphed to maintain transparency.

The doctor Sudhir Gupta who conducted the autopsy said to media that the post-mortem was done keeping the angle of sudden unnatural death in focus.

" We will take another two days at least to finalise our conclusion in the case of Sunanda Pushkar's death. We focused the angle of sudden unnatural death. There were injury marks over the body. But we can't say right now that the death has any relation with those injuries," said Dr. Sudhi Gupta.

Meanwhile Shashi Tharoor have been also discharged from the AIIMS, after treatment of chest pain he complained of.

Earlier Union Minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushakar was found dead in Hotel Leela in New Delhi around 8PM on January 17th, 2014.  Initial reports suggest no foul play and Police is suspecting it either a case of suicide or a natural death. However, a confirmation will come only after the pending post mortem.

Reportedly Tharoor after returning from the AICC meeting yesterday to the hotel where he and Sunanda were staying, didn’t get any response from his wife who was in the hotel's room number 345. Sunanda’s body was found lying on the bed  after Tharoor opened the door with the help of the hotel staff.

Tharoor and Pushkar had been staying in the Hotel due to some ongoing renovation work at their official residence. PRO of Delhi Police Rajan Bhagat confirmed that since Sunanda and Sashi Tharoor’s marriage have not completed 7 years, so according to Section 176 of IPC, an SDM will be conducting further investigations on the case.

It must be recalled that Sunanda had not been keeping well and was undergoing long medical diagnosis. Over the past few days Sunanda had reportedly told her close allies that ‘this is a bad phase of her life’. Sonu Nigam, Sunanda’s friend and Bollywood singer, confirmed to Times Now that Sunanda had confided in him about multiple organ failure.

Bollywood fraternity had expressed shock and distress at Sunanda’s sudden demise.

A few tweets from various celebrities expressing their shock are as below:

Sunanda had been the owner of IPL team along with her husband Sashi Tharoor, a business stint that had ended in a rather controversial manner. Lalit Modi, the ex-commissioner of the IPL also tweets on Sunanda’s demise.

Sunanda had been in the middle of controversy over the last two days over a few tweets that went out from her account blaming one Pakistani Journalist, Mehr Tarar of stalking her husband and trying to wreck her marriage.

She had later spoken to media and alleged that her account had been hacked and the tweets are not actually hers. Mehr Tarar on the other hand had called Sunanda insane. On receiving the news of her passing away Mehr Tarar tweeted her shock.

Staff of Hotel Leela confirmed that Sunanda was last seen around 3.30 PM in the lobby on the day of her demise.

Exact time of her death and the accurate reason is yet to come out after a proper police investigation and post mortem. However Sunanda’s last tweet which is  as below shows that she had been expecting an end to be near due to her health reasons.

Calling this very last tweet of Sunanda tragic, Pritish Nandy tweets

But the social media has already floated a lot of controversy theories around her death. Twitteratis were found questioning various aspects of her death. A few of the tweets are as below
