Though she belongs to America every indian proudely feels that Snita belong to their own country. All indains congratulating her on this occassion.
THE INDIAN origin American astronaut, Sunita Williams, was presented Padma Bhushan award in the Huston city of America on July 5. After receiving the award the excited Sunita felt elated on receiving it. Sunita was in space for 195 days, making it a record stay.
On the occasion she praised Mahatma Gandhi and lauded that he had seen the boundary less without spending in the space, but she had seen it only after she went there.
To witness this great moment her father, Deepak Pandya and other Indian origin friends attended in a big number. The award given to her is the second highest civilian award in India. Actually, this award was to be presented to her in early 2007 but due to some reasons, it was presented by the Indian Embassy officials in a specially arranged function in Huston.
Indians are proud of her feet in the space and prayed for her safe return to Earth during her return journey when it was delayed. Later, she visited India and attended a space technology conference in Hyderabad. She also visited her own hometown in Gujarat and paid tributes to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
