The Supreme Court of the country has issued a notice to the Centre and Delhi Police after a Chandigarh-based lawyer filed a PIL, seeking that the juvenile in the gruesome Delhi gang-rape case be considered as an adult.
The accused has been claiming to be a minor under the pretext that he is 17 years of age. The Juvenile Justice Board, which is looking into the matter, has reserved its order for January 28. The statements of two of his school principles, have been recorded.
If the court is not satisfied with the statement and the proof presented by the principle, it may order for a bone ossification test, reported by NNIS. Meanwhile, the mother of the accused has given a statement saying that he should be punished if he is guilty.
The gang-rape of 23-year-old Jyoti Singh Pandey on December 16, 2012, left a deep mark on everyone's mind, and was committed by all the accused, and the so called juvenile was the mastermind behind all the physical harm that the girl suffered after the rape.
