Supreme Court: Who will remove mountains of garbage, L-G or the Delhi CM?
On the much debated dispute over the appointment of officials and their transfers, the Delhi government has again reached the Supreme Court asking for an early hearing in the pending petitions. The top court, however, said that it can only start the hearing by next week.

In the meanwhile, the Supreme Court has asked the Centre and the Delhi government to inform by Wednesday that who is responsible for clearing the mountains of garbage in the national capital which has created an unhygienic environment.

The Supreme Court observed that the power tussle between the L-G and the Delhi government had led to the common man of Delhi suffering worst conditions of hygiene due to rotting garbage.

A bench headed by Justice Madan B Lokur said that while Delhi's problem is garbage, Mumbai is devastated by water. People are dying from dengue and chikungunya but in this regard no concern is reflected from the government.

Indirectly, the apex court has tried to establish the truth that people's convenience is more important than the war for power between the Chief Minister of Delhi and the L-G.
