Survey public sector drivers to improve road transportation

Drivers who are engaged in driving public and state government transport buses should be frequently approached for participating in a survey to express their opinions clearly with the aim of bringing in all around improvement in road transportation.

This survey should be done regularly by authorized agencies covering as many drivers of state transport buses in India as possible. The questionnaire in such a survey should be prepared in consultation with experts in the field.

Enough columns should be left blank wherein these drivers should be allowed to freely express their opinions, views, suggestions and ideas. The reason for chosing the driving class community of public state transport like bus service is primarily due to the fact that they are somewhat more educated when compared to their counterparts like those driving trucks, auto rickshaws, vans and so on where the driving community may not be that educated.

Concerned people can then collate all views, comments, ideas and everything that comes out through such a survey for implementing in a phase manner. Such a move will not only enable the public bus transport driving community to do their everyday job in a much better manner but will also help in the same way other driving communities who are driving different modes of vehicles.

One related incident is worth mentioning in this article. While traveling in a bus from one state to another, at one junction the driver stopped the bus and was seen talking to one person who was cleaning a car parked on the sideways of the road with a water pipe. Soon, the person diverted his water pipe to sprinkle water on the bus wind screen which had traces of lots of dust accumulation.

After the water sprinkled the wind shield, it became very clear. he bus driver must have requested the person to help him out to enable him to have a clear windshield. With the help of a proper survey done periodically, all such issues will come to light clearly to enable the concerned to proactively take enough action which will have a positive impact on the driving community.
