Suspended Pakistani cricketers return home
Suspended national players of Pakistan cricket team, facing spot-fixing allegations reached Lahore on Saturday. Salman Butt, (Former Captain), Muhammad Asif (Fast Bowler), Muhammad Aamir (Fast Bowler) have come back home.
THE THREE suspended national players of Pakistan cricket team, facing spot-fixing allegations reached Lahore on Saturday. Salman Butt, (Former Captain), Muhammad Asif (Fast Bowler), Muhammad Aamir (Fast Bowler) were allowed by Metropolitan Police to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitar with their family members.

When the accused trio arrived at Lahore International Airport, cricket fans thronged the airport to receive them. At the arrival some of the fans also raised pro and anti slogans for cricketers and many others also carried shoes to hurl at the accused national players. Fans of Salman Butt were also present on this occasion with placards, banners where they were protesting against the worst attitude of  British Media towards Pakistani cricket team.

However, when Airport authorities saw a throng of fans waiting outside the airport for players and sensed the gravity of the situation, they used back door of the Airport to send players to their homes. Media was also waiting outside the Airport but accused players didn’t face media and left for home.

The three Pakistani players were temporarily suspended by the ICC last Thursday and were investigated by police the next day for their alleged role in bowling deliberate no-balls during the fourth Test at Lord’s between England and Pakistan. An undercover sting operation by a tabloid apparently revealed that they had done so at the request of Mazhar Majeed,  who was  a agent of Pakistani players but still now  no allegation has been proved against Pakistani Cricketers by ICC  and Metropolitan police.

Meanwhile, Metropolitan police made it clear that allowing Pakistan players to go back home does not mean that they are clear from the Spot-fixing allegations.

Pakistani Government had requested Metropolitan police yesterday to allow three national players, who are facing spot-fixing allegations to come  back  home  for the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitar with their family member.

Metropolitan Police  gave  permission  to Pakistani players to  go to back their  home  country   on the assurance of Minister of interior Rehman Malik that Players  would be  made available if Metropolitan police needed  them for  more investigations.
Pakistani Cricket team is currently busy in playing one day series against England.
