Controversial godman Nithyananda has moved the Karnataka High Court challenging a lower court order for the release of 'defamatory' Kannada film 'Sathyananda'. Justice S N Satyanarayana adjourned the appeal to March 20 for a further hearing.
Earlier, a lower court had allowed the release of the film produced and directed by Madan Patel with the condition that the title of the film be changed and certain portions of the film deleted. The film title was changed to 'Yaarivanu' Neeve Heli from 'Satyananda'.

The film is about the controversial godman, and has super star Upendra in the cast who has also outlined story and screenplay. The film stars Ravi Chetan in the lead as ‘swamiji’ along with other actors Anokhi, Neha and Mitra. The music is also composed by Madan Patel.
Nithyananda had also filed defamation suit against the producer of the film and sought a sum of Rs 3.5 crore as damages and final verdict is still pending.
