Swaraj India demands CBI probe into alleged nexus between AAP govt and finance mafia in auto scam
Yogendra Yadav-led Swaraj India has alleged that Delhi government is hand in glove with the financiers in this scam. It has asked Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi to come clean on the issue and has also demanded that a CBI inquiry be ordered in the case.

Swaraj India has alleged that autos whose actual cost is Rs 1,80,000 is being sold at Rs 4,50,000 by the financier mafia who are hand in glove with the government.

Addressing the reporters at a press conference, National Spokesperson of Swaraj India, Anupam said, "By selling the auto for more than double the price, the Delhi government along with finance companies is making huge illegal profits."

Anupam also alleged that the scam is facilitated by trading permits, which was in fact declared illegal by the Supreme Court order in MC Mehta v/s Union of India & others case.

"Permit-trading through the nexus of Delhi Govt and financier is a routine affair. On the pretext of Auto Replacement Scheme the new autos worth Rs 1,85,000 are priced at Rs 4,50,000 to Rs 4,70,000 and the poor & unemployed auto drivers are trapped in the clutches of black marketers," Anupam said.

Presidium member of Swaraj India, Purushottam said in the press conference, "In every auto purchase of Delhi black money transactions ranging from Rs 2,65,000 to Rs 2,85,000 are involved. Today, when all parties in the country are making big claims & debates on black money, the Delhi government is encouraging black money using the hard earned money of the poor auto-drivers. Before coming to power, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had made many tall promises to auto drivers but it is extremely unfortunate that far from fulfilling those promises, gross injustice is being done today to auto drivers."

On 17th November, National President of Swaraj India, Yogendra Yadav had written a letter to the Delhi Chief Minister regarding this issue and demanded justice for the auto-drivers. But the Chief Minister has not yet responded to the letter. Swaraj India also said that if the Delhi government does not respond to their demands, the auto drivers will be forced to go on a protest on December 5.

Sushil Kumar who is arguing the case for the auto drivers said, "Rather than doing justice with the poor auto drivers, this government along with the CBI is playing petty politics."

Anupam also called it 'unfortunate' that when an auto worth Rs. 1.85 lakhs is sold art Rs. 4.5 lakhs, it's considered 'part of the system' and 'business as usual' but when it comes to selling the autos at a price of Rs. 1.85 lakhs, the government calls this corruption.

Swaraj India has demanded that a CBI investigation must be ordered into the Delhi Auto Scam and has also demanded strict punishment for the accused. It has also demanded that 324 vehicles of auto drivers that are pending LOIs be registered immediately and the successful drivers possessing license-badge be given their autos.
