PANIC HAS spread in Berhampur city after a patients suffering from fever was detected with swine flu and was admitted at the MKCG Medical College Hospital.
One student named Pradip Kumar Panda, an MBA student at Hyderabad had returned recently and was residing at Sidharthanagar area near Bank Colony in the city. He was suffering from fever with symptoms of swine flu.
Pradip’s swab was sent to for the testing and it was found positive with H1N1 virus, medical sources informed.
After the detection of swine flu case, the district administration located the patient from the Sidharthanagar area of the city and sifted him to the MKCG Medical. With as many as eight deaths from swine flu in Orissa, the people of Berhampur city are in panick and are taking preventing steps. People were seen at medical shops and homeopathic clinics to buy vaccines and masks. It is pertinent to mention here that despite the threat of swine flu pandemic going down, the virus is still lurking in the country and it will need a lot of effort on behalf of the health authorities to ensure that it does not strike further.
