Australia has been thrashing India in all formats of the game. They won the first T20 match too and they would be eager for another series white wash when they take on India later today for the..
IT WAS all Australia in the first T20 match played at Sydney against India, where Aussies defeated India by 31 runs. Both teams would move into the second T20 match with a similar objective of winning the game, scheduled to be played later today at Melbourne. Australia have an upper hand, so one cannot rule out another series white wash in the shorter version of the game, which the Indians would like to avoid. The best that India can come up with in the series is a draw, by winning the match. Australia, if they win, will walk away with the T20 series.
The Indians put up another embarrassing display with both the bat and the ball in the first T20, where the Australian batsmen thrashed the Indian bowlers all around the park. Later, their bowlers stamped their authority all over the Indian batsmen. The Indians could only put up 140 runs on the board, while chasing 170 odd runs.
Even the youngsters in the team could not impress anyone. Many had expected these youngsters to make a big difference to the team’s performance in Australia, but they too failed like their senior counterparts in the Test series. Talent has never been in doubt, but all these players have trouble while playing in bouncy pitches. Even players such as Gambhir and Sehwag have been a major disappointment. It is time for them to deliver. Sehwag is due for a big score. Will it be his day today?
Players such as Raina, Rohit Sharma, and Kohli are considered to be players of the future, and they have to show their class in these conditions. So, when they take on the Aussies today, it is time for them to prove their mettle and show the world
where they belong. The same goes for the bowlers too. Now, it’s a case where Indians are just playing for pride, as the Indian fans have lost hope with the current crop of players in the Indian team. It is time to prove their fans wrong.
With the ODI series just a few days away, India, the world champions cannot afford to put up similar performances as they have been doing in the recent matches. May be, India’s fortune may change if they win the second T20. Many fans would be rooting for it.
