THIS DIRECTORIAL debut of Aamir Khan sends a strong message to the teachers and parents who seem to have given up. It is a heart-touching story of a rising star, which takes off from the ground.

The lead character of the film goes around Ishaan, a cute naughty child who, due to a small reason is unable to make his mark in studies. Fed up with his undisciplined nature and independent spirit his parents shrug off their basic responsibilities and send him to a boarding school. Even this boarding school fails.

The first half of the movie depicts light stuff where the comic, intelligent yet non- studious part of a child has been portrayed. Schooldays tantrums make the audience rock and roll with a laughing dimple. Revisiting school punishments and enjoying them made it possible for the viewers to flow along.

But the story takes a turn when the parents give up and shift Ishaan to a boarding school. He not only misses his family but also thinks that admission to the boarding school is a punishment for him. The magic of soft emotional songs had been successful in spell binding.

The second half of the movie makes the star experience a diverse form of teaching. Ishaan’s sad face is what concerns this teacher and he starts working to reincarnate his smile. He not only comes to know about the problem but also finds a solution to it.

He shows it to the world that the once-so-slow Ishaan is a treasure of talent and intelligence. Amol Gupte’s creative direction and script has made the movie a perfect gift.

Shanker Ahsaan Loy made their mark by giving their signature of a slow-cum-thumping music. The story is crisp and has been well written. But the man who glitters behind the scene is Prasoon Joshi, who deserves a special mention for composing such heart touching songs. Last but not the least, Amol Gupte’s creative direction and script has made the movie a perfect gift on Id-ul- azaha and Christmas.

Happy viewing!

Amir is a perfectionist. He was first the producer of the movie. He took direction of the movie in his hands from Amol Gupte and tagged him as"Creative director" pf ther movie. Although I mentioned 'directorial debut'. Although Amir did a great job in the movie. I will take care of it

Ms ritika ,i have not got anything against the movie, but i seriously have something against the review and from where did saawariya come into the picture only you would know..if you really liked the review then justify this-1)"The lead character of the film goes around Ishaan",-i think it should be"the film revolves around the lead character ishaan"..but anyways grammatical errors can be forgiven.2) cute naughty child -even my kid could have come up with better adjectives like incorrigible, preciou s,exuberant,etc3)Schooldays tantrums make the audience rock and roll with a laughing dimple.-shuklaji aap is pankti ke dwaara kya vyakt karna chahte hai..it is the most hilarious sentence i have ever read4)viewers to flow along.????!!??...yes i was indeed swimming in the theatre..5)slow-cum-thumping music.-koi bhi muscian ne aaj tak aisa music invent nahi kiya hoga..congratulation s!!the above mentioned flaws can be neglected but Mr.Shukla a review is not about just giving the story of the film but reviewing the film ,which i am afraid is absent here..as i said earlier, take this as positive criticism ..i hope to see you writing better articles now..merry christmas!!!!
