A few months back his mother found a good looking bride for him and he had approved her. He was quite delighted - she was good looking, educated and really wished to give them all a nice life. And this was apparent in the new enthusiasm in him. But it also got him worried. And the cause of worry was that once he gets married he cannot share with his wife that he was doing a menial job. So he had to move up the value chain in finances, job and status so that she would be proud of him.
About two months back he left the job and went missing. We all were surprised and everyone was missing him after all he had added to the quality of life in the whole society.
Well, we saw him the other day outside the main gate with a rickshaw and there was quite inquisitiveness to find out as to what had transpired. Well he had got married, became the proud owner of a cycle rickshaw and was his usual joyful stuff. Future plans included moving from a manual to auto rickshaw and subsequently graduating to a cab. And finally he planned to have his own cab, make good money and send kids to Loreto, which is next door.
It set me thinking - from where did he get his thought process, his dreams, self-respect and the basic values simultaneously enjoying life and spreading happiness amongst others. No cynicism unlike most others who have got so much from the nation but are not as thankful. Great dreams, I am sure President Kalam would be proud of him as we all are.
