Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa continues to be in ICCU: Here's why
Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on 22nd September after she complained of fever and dehydration. Later, the hospital had said she was being treated for infection with respiratory support.
On November 13, the AIADMK chief issued a statment and said that she has taken "rebirth" and that she was waiting to resume her duties after complete recovery.

But, according to media reports the 68-year-old leader is still in hospital's ICCU. Apollo Hospitals chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy on Friday said that Jayalalithaa was doing 'fine'.

As per the hospital authority Tamil Nadu CM is now on ventilator for only 15 minutes a day, so that her lungs would expand. Jayalalithaa is still in the ICCU so that she doesn't get cross infection. She can guide and direct the government even now.

Reddy said that the CM had recovered 'completely'. "Her mental conditions are normal.....Right now other systems of her body are being pepped up," reported TOI.

AIADMK spokesperson C Ponnaiyyan said, "Amma's (Jayalalithaa) health has improved excellently. She is (continuing) undergoing physiotherapy and she may be discharged any day."
