The outburst of Tammareddy, where he lambasted Telugu heroes may be correct but the question is can they digest this criticism? Though the comments have hurt the feelings of Telugu heroes, nobody has reacted so far.
TELUGU HEROES were ruthlessly criticized by the veteran producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja former president of the AP film producers Council on November 18 in Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media at the venue of 16th international Film festival the veteran producer had made unkind remarks about Telugu heroes and said without any hesitation they had become actors because their parents were actors. No Tollywood actor knows anything about cinema and they never show interest in acting or making an off-beat film.
He said in Telugu ‘Telugulo magade ledu ballywood lo magallu unnaru’ which means there is no hero in the Telugu film industry and all were dummies. No actor in Telugu dared to act in films like Taare Zamein Par and others but Bollywood has heroes. The Telugu film industry doesn’t go beyond a few dances and a couple of fight scenes. Though the comments have hurt the feelings of Telugu heroes, nobody has reacted so far. The Telugu film industry is the second biggest after Bollywood in the country but fails to compete with other languages in getting awards at the national level. In the recently announced awards, Telugu did not get anything. All these might have made the veteran producer react. On the inauguration day Dasari Narayana Rao had also alleged that the Union Government was looking at them as second grade artists. One thing is evident that Telegu filmgoers are also dissatisfied with the industry as it has become commercial. Only the sons of heroes and producers are being inducted and talent is neglected.
One has to wait and see how the remarks of Tammareddy Bharadwaja will be taken in the coming days.
