TASMAC's convocation ceremony
One of the premier management institutions in India TASMAC has celebrated its first convocation with immense enthusiasm on Monday. Chief guest Shri Keval Handa and guest of honour Padmashree Lila Poonawala addressed the students at the convocation
TRAINING AND Advanced Studies in Management and Communications LTD, (TASMAC) one of the premier management institutions in India on June 8 (Monday) celebrated its first convocation with immense enthusiasm. The convocation was in high-spirits with caps flying as approximately 100 elated students were awarded their degrees, diplomas and certificates in the presence of the teachers, directors and parents. Shri Keval Handa, managing director, Pfizer Ltd, graced the occasion as the chief guest along with Padmashree Lila Poonawala as the guest of honour. Both the guests addressed the students at the convocation.
Addressing TASMAC’s graduation ceremony Shri Keval Handa, mentioned that he was extremely thankful to Shailesh Niyogi for inviting him to be the chief guest for the convocation ceremony. He also said that TASMAC has emerged as a leading management institution with a focus on setting the highest standards in international education. He further added, “The world today is full of challenges, with no maps to guide you ahead and the students and professionals should not depend on others, but create value for the organisation by working as a team and achieving greater goals.

The need of today is adaptively, desire for entrepreneurship, energy, activeness, drive, networking and to bring in success by building the competencies of the team and the organisation." Elaborating on the networking aspect, Handa mentioned that the networking required is not just that of developing contacts, but that of a strong heartfelt connect with a give and take of emotions and discussions were there is a desire to work for the other without there being a request for the same.”

Padmashree Lila Poonawala, guest of honour for the convocation ceremony who is also the member of the advisory board of TASMAC stared by quoting a poem, “One day when I looked up in the sky, Something white fell in my eye, I prayed to God and said, thank God cows don’t fly.” Talking to the students she further added, “It is always a pleasure to be associated with students as students are the leaders of tomorrow. Every student should pledge to work towards the betterment of the society at large and strive to give in the best. She also said, “India today is a place of great opportunities and all the people living here are truly lucky to be here, a land of ample opportunities and potential.”

On the occasion, Dr Giri Dua, chairman and managing director, TASMAC, congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to work for the betterment of the society. He also said, “It is now the correct time to work towards fulfilling your dreams and aim at becoming young entrepreneurs for the bright future of our country. I have a lot of hope pinned on today’s youth and I am sure they will be at the helms of affairs in whichever sector/industry they join.”


TASMAC, founded in 1990, is validated by the University of Wales, United Kingdom to offer various programmes. It has established its reputation over the years for setting the highest standards in international education and is considered the pioneer of British management education in India.
