INDIAN AUTOMAKER Tata Motors recently launched an environment friendly car in the Electric Vehicle (EV) segment in the Geneva Auto Show 2010. The Electric Vehicle (EV) is based on the Tata Nano platform. Tata Nano which was launched last year considered as the world cheapest and smallest car. Tata Nano EV and will be exported from India to the European markets in next 30 months.
The Tata Nano EV, which will seat for four, will have a predicted range of up to 160 km (99 miles) and an acceleration of 0-60 km/h (0-37 mph) in less than 10 seconds. Tata Motors will use lithium-polymer batteries, as in the Tata Indica Vista EV, in the Tata Nano EV. The Tata Nano EV will be powered by a 3-cylinder sporty all aluminium MPFI engine combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission and electrically powered steering.
During the Geneva Auto Show 2010, world leaders in automobile sector are launching many environment friendly green cars as well as the latest and updated models of various cars. Geneva Auto Show 2010 will run upto March 14.
