Titled as Tata Nano Plus, the car will be a bit above Rs 1 lakh but will sport all new interiors and exteriors that comprise an in-built stereo system, ample protection and alloy wheels.
Following a cold response received by Tata Nano, which hit the roads in 2009, Tata Motors has come up with another variant of the car which will be similar to that sold in Europe. Titled as Tata Nano Plus, the car will be a bit above Rs 1 lakh but will sport all new interiors and exteriors that comprise an in-built stereo system, ample protection and alloy wheels.
After a not so great response from Indian markets that primarily focusses on its viability and security, Tata Motors said that the sales of Nano did not live up to the company's expectations even though the price tag was below Rs 1 lakh. The new variant is expected to give some competition to Chevrolet Spark and Maruti Alto, both of whom have launched respective variants in the small car segment. The sale of the car, however, had an impact on the Indian markets as the price of Maruti 800 also dipped considerably. The company officials are hopeful that the new version of the Nano will attract the interest of the huge consumer base in India although the new car is tipped to cross the 1 lakh mark.
The bookings for the new car have already started in Kerala although the company has not yet launched any confirmation regarding the same. The bookings in Kerala which was done during the festive period received warm response from the masses.
