Tata Nano's new competitor, Bajaj RE 60
Bajaj has decided to enter into the field of four-wheelers and provide a stiff competition to Tata Nano. Bajaj RE 60 would be launched later in the year, which has a mileage of 40 km/l with a 200cc engine. Its price is still a secret.

WHEN TATA introduced Nano in the market in 2009, they did not have any major competitor in its price range, which stood at around US$ 2100 then. Hence, they were seen doing quite well as they had targeted people who used two-wheelers as their mode of conveyance. Bajaj seems to have seen the trend of people going for low-cost cars, as a replacement for two and three wheelers, and so they would soon be launching their car, RE 60, later in the year.

It is for the first time that Bajaj Auto is entering into the field of manufacturing a four wheeler, as they have been known for their two and three wheelers till date, which is still considered to be one of the best in the business. It remains to be seen how successful would they be in this new venture. The car is said to be have a mileage of 40 km/litre with a 200cc engine, as reported by NDTV. Nano with 624cc engine, when launched only had a mileage of around 23 km/l, though early last year, they had announced a plan of increasing their mileage to 40 km/l.

Both, Nano and RE 60, would be having the same seating capacity, with a maximum of four people. Nano has a top speed of around 100 km/ph which is comparatively better than Bajaj RE 60, which has a top speed of 70 km/h. The price for this car is expected to be same as that of Nano, but, they have not talked about the price of the car, yet.

We do not know how would things shape up for Bajaj, as they are making its debut with this car into the four-wheeler market, as compared to Tata, who had already established in this market. Both these cars have been designed to be environment friendly.
