Tata to launch E-Nano this Diwali
Tata Motors plans to roll out the electric variant of Tata Nano in India during the festival of Diwali. The company has also tied up with MDI of France to develop a car that runs on compressed air, making travel economical and pollution free
TATA MOTORS is planning to enter the ‘green belt’. The company plans to roll out the electric variant of Tata Nano in India. The car baptised as E-Nano will be built in collaboration with the Norwegian electric car specialist firm, Miljoebil Grenland. The specification of the electric-drive version of Nano has yet to be disclosed.


With the population level going very high, it has become important to opt for the green cars. Currently, the sole player in this E-car segment is Maini Reva and now many carmakers are working on this green car project.


The E-Nano will be a great option even in terms of affordability and popularity. Besides, the petrol variant of Tata Nano, the company will also introduce two cylinder turbo diesel variant by 2009. Tata Nano’ s first batch that has been assembled at Tata’s Singur plant in West Bengal will be rolled out in this October during the festival of Diwali.


The company has also tied up with Moteur Development International (MDI) of France to develop a car that runs on compressed air, thus making travel very economical and totally pollution free.
