TATA Motors Limited will launch its much awaited crossover vehicle Xover at the Indian Auto Expo in New Delhi in January 2010. Tata Xover is a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with seven seats and has three rows for passengers. Tata Xover is expected to be priced between 6 to 8 lakhs and the company feels that it will fill the gap in its products offering.

It will be commercially available to the buyers in the first half of the next year, according to the company.

The crossover car will challenge formidable rivals in the form of Toyata Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Tavera, all of which have established market in the country. Tata will present Xover as a family car which allows people to go outdoors and indulge in sporty activities like going on tours and long drives.

Tata Xover boasts of a newly designed engine, ABS system, air bags, navigation system and many additional features, which the company claims will make it a winner in its segment. The launch of Xover is now in the final phase as the car was conceptualised in 2005 and since than the design and development have reached a stage, where Xover can be launched commercially next year.
