Telugu Deasm Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu lamented that the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had become a 'pawn' in the Congress party's murky politics when the people of Andhra Pradesh state in India were going through trauma and agony due to the decision of the Congress Working Committee to create Telangana state bifurcating state.
In a six-page hard-written letter sent to the prime minister, he lamented that the Prime Minister has been indulging in partisan political conspiracy. Questioning the Prime Minister to break his “Classic silence”, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh
asked him to play a proactive role in resolving the concerns and do justice to all and restore peace and development in the state. He also found fault with the Prime Minister for asking the APNGOs to meet the Antony Committee. This, he felt was a casual and “irresponsible” attitude.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the Prime Minister was treating the division of the state as an internal affair of the Congress party. It is unfortunate that the aggrieved section have to go to Delhi
to meet the Antony committee, which was appointed by the party president Smt. Sonia Gandhi.
Since it was an issue that effects crores of people of Andhra Pradesh, he said the Prime Minister should take the initiative to visit Hyderabad and build rapprochement and resolve the crisis. Naidu said apart from the indifference and inefficiency in handling the sensitive issue, he had also noticed a deliberate political conspiracy in the functioning of the Prime Minister under the direction of the leader of the Congress party.
Chandrababu Naidu wondered over the `red carpet’ reception accorded to the Y S R Congress team led by Smt. Y S Vijayamma, when she met him in New Delhi, a day earlier. “But you are refusing to meet TDP MPs when they were trying to meet him and appraise ground realities prevailed in the state of Andhra Pradesh”, he observed.
He was suspicious with the reported comment of the Prime Minister with Mrs Vijayamma that “things would have different in Andhra Pradesh, if her husband Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is alive today”. He said this is exposing collusion between Congress and YSR Congress and indicating release of her son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is in prison since last year May in disproportionate assets case.
