TDP MLA, former TDP MLA killed in Maoist attack
Araku MLA Kidari Sarbeswara Rao and ex-MLA Sibari Soma were killed by a women squad of Maoists near Dumburiguda area under Visakhapattnam district, around 80 km from Odisha's Koraput on Sunday afternoon.

Two AK-47 riffles used for killing them were snatched from their body guards by persons suspected to be Naxalites.  TDP president, who is also the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, has expressed shock over the murders. The Chief Minister who is currently in the US on an official tour has condemned the attack.

Naidu praised the services of Sarbeswara Rao and Sibari Soma in the development of Araku district.  He expressed condolences to their family members by calling such attacks and murders as a blot on humanity.

The Dumburiguda Police Station was burnt by the public in protest against the killing of their representatives. Angry protestors did not even allow the police to shift their bodies from Araku to Visakhapattnam.  Situation in Visakhapatnam district continues to remain tense.
