Teachers' Day : Not even a road named after Dr Radhakrishnan
While we have examples where statues of politicians have been erected even when they are alive, it is a matter of deep regret and shame that in the entire country we don't have a single road named after Dr Radhakrishnan who devoted his entire life to the nation.
TEACHERS' DAY is celebrated every year on September 5 in the memory of country’s first vice-president (later President) Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on his birth-anniversary. But it is matter of regret that apart from this solo gesture, neither any road nor an institution in the capital is named after the great scholar.
It is noteworthy that politicians of modern era manage to flood states, cities, towns and even villages not only with schemes, institutions, parks and roads after their political mentors but now-a-days with even statues of their political mentors not only after death but even in their life-time. But eminent personalities having selflessly served this great nation are not duly recognised like has happened in case of Dr Radhakrishnan.

Actually today's politicians are so much self centred and selfish that they can not even think of any paying tributes to any senior or leaders of the country...this is shameful but today we have only politicians but not any leader

U cannot expect this from the government as he did not belong to Gandhi family. Neither he is fundmentalist Hindu so that BJP can do so.

y name a road wen we know who the actual man is...i mean der are names of roads after people and we just know them as road's name bt not the man after whom it was named!
