Team India wins 2nd ODI against Australia: Indispensable, intelligent and incredible MSD strikes again
Well, for most of millions of diehard fans of the ever vibrant MSD, this is big day. As usual, one of the greatest ever finishers of Team India has displayed his virtual credibility in the need of hour.

In the crucial second ODI against Australia, Team India after trailing 1-0, needed to win this match. Every single fan of the game wanted team India (who has created history by already winning the Test series on the soil of Australia) to win the ODI series as well.

So, the master striker, judging the equation, took charge and gracefully led Team India to win the second ODI in the 3 match series. Hopefully, team India will win the last match as well with their upgraded morale and by virtue of the presence of the ever shining MSD.

So, when the next world cup is due to be played in June 2019, many critics were pointing fingers towards MSD claiming the he has lost his sheen and shine and it would be conducive to consider his replacement.

No doubt many talented cricketers have emerged recently and perhaps the BCCI is having a golden era as far as the availability of many young and experienced cricketers is concerned.

But let us have a look at the records MSD is having under his belt. This right handed, 37-and-a-half-years-old wicket keeper batsman has a glorious ODI average of 50+ runs.

Likewise he has got a reasonably good test average of 38+. Even in T20s he is not lagging far behind others with an average of 37+.

Those who pointed out that this veteran might not prove to be very useful may kindly note that during the last two matches, MSD has scored 51 and 55 runs respectively.

So, for the haters age is no bar here, period. Also, let me put here for the record that under the sparkling captaincy of MSD, India became number 1 Test team for 18 consecutive months beginning from December 2009.

Apart from the above, Team India was able to win 50 overs world cup in 2011. In fact, MSD had shown his tremendous capability when during his debut captaincy in 2007, team India had won world Twenty-20. Above all, no one can compete with the rich experience of MSD under any given situation.

Recently, during a match, the commentators were genuinely saying that when MSD had given a nod for a review, that has got to be correct. Not only as a batsman but his advise in respect of setting the field to the timely changing of bowlers has always proved fruitful, especially under the critical tense situations.

Today, MSD has once again shown that the reflexes of a tiger might get bit slower but he rules the jungle forever. The day millions of his fans will see him proudly holding the world cup trophy along with Virat Kohli, they will attain moksha.

On a personal note, my career as a sports writer will also take a bow alongside the farewell of MSD.

Till then AYE AYE CAPTAIN.
